KAPIT: The body of Selvester Erukson Burung, 8, who drowned in Balleh River, Lepong, here on Friday has been found yesterday.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the body was found at 7am by a longhouse resident who joined the search and rescue (SAR) operation, some 30 feet away from where the incident happened.
The body was retrieved by firemen and representatives from other agencies and handed over to the police for further action.
According to residents, the victim who has special needs was said to have taken a bath in the river before being reported missing.
The victim’s clothing was found lying on the riverbank.
The SAR operation came to a halt at 9.45am.
