Body of missing man found afloat

The missing victim’s body was found afloat in Batang Rajang at Temalat, Song this morning (Jan 8).

SONG: The body of a 27-year-old man reported missing on Thursday (Jan 6) was found afloat in Batang Rajang at Temalat this morning (Jan 8).

A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said the victim, identified as Robin Etok, was found by Song police around 10.05am.

The body was retrieved and brought to the search control post where the victim’s family confirmed that it belonged to the missing man in Nanga Encheremin.

The body was later taken to Kapit Hospital for further action.

Following the discovery, the search operation was called off at 11.45am on the third day of the operation.

On Jan 6, the victim was reported missing after he jumped into the river around 1.30am.

A search party was conducted by the victim’s family and villagers but to no avail. A police report was then lodged for further search assistance.
