GUA MUSANG: The Air Unit of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) conducted a medical evacuation flight (Medevac) by bringing seven Orang Asli from Pos Gob and Pos Bihai here for treatment at the Gua Musang Hospital yesterday.

JBPM Subang Central Region public relations officer Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd Rizzan Jefri said the patients, consisting of four children and three women, including two who are pregnant,  were lifted to the hospital using a Mi-171 aircraft.

“The plane left for Pos Bihai at 2.30 pm to pick up two children who had high fever and were in a weak state before going to Pos Gob at 5.20 pm to pick up a girl and a woman.

“The crew then flew again to Kampung Tembaga, Pos Gob, to bring two pregnant women and a boy to the hospital,” he said in a statement today.

He said the Medevac flight was conducted while the crew was carrying out an operation to deliver food aid to the interior areas of the Orang Asli settlement.
