KUCHING: The state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) recently distributed 300 containers of bubur lambuk (savoury porridge) to members of the public here.
The breaking of fast and bubur lambuk distribution programme was organised at Petra Jaya fire station yesterday (April 1).
KDJA chairman Ronnie Teo Teck Wei said the programme was one of the ways for the media to show appreciation to the department.
He said the programme also aimed to further enhance the good relationship between both parties.
“Bomba Sarawak is not only a strategic partner but also our family.
“We would like to thank them for not only helping the local community in times of need but also for providing information to the media,” he said in his welcoming address.
Meanwhile, state Bomba director Datuk Khirudin Drahman agreed that the department and local media in the state indeed have a good and close relationship.
He lauded the local media for their continuous support in providing good and positive coverage of the department.
“I would like to thank the local media for positively highlighting the services and various efforts the department undertakes for Sarawakians.
“The local media has been assisting the department in our advocacy and education efforts through the coverage that they provide,” he said.
