KUCHING: A Covid-19 vaccine booster shot will be beneficial, says Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

The Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) believed that there should be no issue in making the booster shot mandatory.

“This is part of the government’s efforts to increase the level of antibodies, especially in frontliners, senior citizens and high-risk groups.

“I believe there is nothing wrong in making it mandatory because it will be beneficial.

“I highly encourage people to go for the booster shot. Besides the other sacrifices that we have to make, this will help to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

“Moreover, there are many countries that have already begun administering the booster shot,” he said on Monday (Sept 20).

“Even though Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia with its population widely spread out, the administration of the booster shot would not be a big problem.

“This is because we already have the experience from administering the first and second doses,” the Pantai Damai assemblyman added.
