KUCHING: Border control operations by the Malaysian Army (Tentera Darat Malaysia) in the country are running as usual, said Army Eastern Field Command commander Maj Gen Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain.

“We are always in operation and there are no changes in the operations unless there is a threat or smuggling.

“If there is an order from our superior that there is a threat, only then we will change our operations,” he said.

Zamrose told this to reporters after receiving a visit from Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his Hari Raya open house at Rumah Sri Kenyalang, Jalan Taman Budaya yesterday.

“Now, we still continue the operations as normally planned including in Sarawak and Sabah,” he said.

Asked if he and the chief minister discussed anything in particular, Zamrose replied:
“No, we did not discuss anything. I invited him just for the Hari Raya celebration.”

The chief minister and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang spent nearly 40 minutes at the open house.
