PADAWAN: About 300 participants took part in the Borneo Highland Padawan Eco Run 2022.

Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang said the event attracted more participants this time including from the local communities.

“The Borneo Highland Padawan Eco Run is a community based ecotourism product in that it encourages the community here to engage in the event.

“I believe for those of you who are keen on extreme sport to test your endurance, this is a good platform for you,” he said.

He said this in a speech read by MPP deputy chairman Senator Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim during the closing of the Borneo Highland Padawan Eco Run 2022 at Dewan Biannah, Kampung Annah Rais yesterday (Sept 25).

Apart from that, Lo added that the event also promoted a healthy lifestyle.

He also expressed his gratitude to the council’s collaborating partners from Borneo Highland Resort Management, the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Art and the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development for assisting and promoting the event to the public.
