SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bukit Assek branch yesterday distributed 250 sets of dates and 20 boxes of mineral water to two mosques in Kampung Sentosa here.

Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek said the recipients were Masjid Al-Muhajirin and Masjid Al-Anshar. The distribution is in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.

A total of 200 sets of dates and 15 boxes of mineral water were presented to Masjid Al-Muhajirin while the rest to Masjid-Al-Anshar.

Chieng said the donation was for the mosque-goers to break their fast.

Also present during the simple handover ceremony were Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian; Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin; Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts I Deputy Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting; and Public Health, Housing and Local Government II Deputy Minister Michael Tiang Ming Tee.
