SIBU: A 13-year-old boy has died after drowning in a pond at Sibu Jaya here yesterday.
According to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, Muhammad Aidil Salleh went to the pond with his friends at about 11am for a swim.
Bomba personnel rushed to the scene upon receiving a call at 12.35pm regarding a drowning incident.
Aidil’s body was retrieved from the pond at about 1.25pm and the operation ended about 15 minutes later.
