KUCHING: Boys’ Brigade Sarawak has ushered in the holiday spirit by distributing Christmas gifts to its members, thanks to a generous contribution of 8,000 gifts from the local community.

Kuching South City Council mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng commended fellow Sarawakians for their contributions, adding that the gifts have been distributed to recipients in SK Tabuan Ulu, SJK Chung Hua Primary schools, Home of Peace, among others, over the past few weeks.

“For a voluntary youth organisation to coordinate such a charity event throughout the state of Sarawak, I understand that members and supporters gave their time and effort to ensure that the joy of Christmas is shared

“The gift may be simple but I am sure with the economic strain on people’s income, this gift will mean a lot to the recipients, irrespective of their religious or racial background,” he said when attending the closing ceremony of Boys’ Brigade Love Box 2023.

He also expressed his gratitude to the organisation for its effort in making an impact in the lives of both the givers and the receivers during this festive season.
