BINTULU: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) has presented several types of equipment and facilities to Bintulu Hospital to meet the needs of Covid-19 patients at the Bintulu Division Quarantine Centre.

The items were presented by BPHB group chief executive officer Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah to Bintulu Hospital deputy director Dr Sivashunmugam Sangaran in a simple presentation ceremony last Thursday.

Bintulu Hospital welcomed the contribution because it addressed the constraints of lack of medical equipment during this pandemic.

Apart from donating medical equipment and facilities, BPHB has also donated food, beverages and necessities for the use of hospital staff working at the Covid-19 quarantine centre in March 2020.

The company also donated personal protection equipment (PPE) in June 2020, which was also extended to hospitals in Kuching, Sibu, Miri and Bintulu.

Bintulu Port is confident that, through the corporate social responsibility programme, the company can to some extent help the government, especially in terms of the need for medical equipment and facilities that are necessary when providing treatment to patients, especially in situations in the country facing the Covid-19 crisis.
