KUCHING: Ten grand prize winners of the ‘Peraduan Jom Beli & Raikan Bersama-sama’ (Let’s Buy & Celebrate Together) contest walked away with a brand-new Proton X50 SUV worth more than RM84,000 each.
The announcement was made by Nescafe on Thursday in conjunction with International Coffee Month; the contest offers prizes totalling RM1.5 million.
Mazita Abdul Rahim, 53, from Shah Alam is one of the grand prize winners and said that the efforts made to win the prize were worth it.
“I have won contests in the past but never a car. I spent RM500 for this contest and the reward is truly worth it.
“My family is planning a trip up north as soon as interstate travel is permitted, and this car will definitely ensure a smooth journey,” she said.
Another grand prize winner, Gan Tiang Hong, 72, from Kajang said that winning the grand prize was unexpected.
“I was very surprised when I saw my name on the winners’ list on the Nescafe website.
“Finally, I am able to replace my 10-year-old car and drive comfortably in a new car. For that, I truly thank Nescafe,” he said.
Other than that, 24 additional winners received brand new Honda Wave motorcycles, while 560 consolation prize winners received RM500 cash vouchers.
During the eight-week contest, there were also bi-weekly special draw prizes of Samsung home appliances worth RM2,000 each for 128 winners.
The public can enter the contest by purchasing selected Nescafe products, namely Nescafe Classic, Nescafe Blend and Brew, Nescafe Gold, Nescafe Latte, Nescafe White Coffee, Nescafe Dolce Gusto and Nestlé Coffeemate, and Nescafe Ready-to-Drink products, worth RM15 in a single receipt.
