KUCHING: The increase in the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Sarawak and Malaysia overall should further strengthen every Malaysian’s resolve to break the chain of transmission, said Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

The Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister said the public could do so by complying with the movement control order (MCO) directives to stay at home, avoid crowds, and observe social distancing.

She said there is still a substantial number of an individual who had attended the recent gathering at Masjid Jamek Sri Petaling and have yet to come forward for screening.

“Please come forward. It is to help yourself, your wife, children, parents, neighbours, and community with whom you had contact with.

“We need to break the chain and you can help us with this,” she urged.

She also called for ketua kaum, ketua masyarakat, and masjid and surau imams who had witnessed the tabligh movement and activities in their midst to share the information with the relevant authorities.
