KUCHING: Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has always upholds his annual tradition of breaking fast at several mosque and surau in his Batu Kawa constituency.
Joined by his team from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), they joined the community in the breaking of fast at Wastu An-Nahri Surau in Kampung Tengah Sungai, and Darul Muttaqin Mosque in Kpg Rantau Panjang, Batu Kawa recently.
“An annual Ramadan tradition, my team and I since 2016 (where we join the breaking of fast) at the surau and mosque in Batu Kawa,” he said in a Facebook post.
Dr Sim, who is also the Batu Kawah assemblyman, said that each year, he and his team were privileged to be invited to share in the Ramadan festivities.
“We share Ramadan foods, ‘kuih’ (cakes), including Sarawak Laksa and even Chinese delicacies like ‘Angku’ (red tortoise cake).
“This is Sarawak. Looking forward to a few more ‘buka puasa’ (breaking of fast) during Ramadan,” he said.
