SIBU: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian urges Sarawak’s diverse communities to stay united to build the nation.

He said that the time to build Sarawak is now, and it required teamwork and talent.

“The Premier of Sarawak (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) is providing free education at the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), Swinburne University of Technology, and Curtin University (from 2026) to quickly build Sarawak,” he said at the Pre-Gawai 2024 Luncheon organised by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Service Centre N51 Bukit Assek on Sunday.

Dr. Sim, who is also the Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, was confident that Sarawak would achieve developed state status with a high-income economy by 2030.

“Our Premier always reminds us to take good care of Sarawak; we must remain united to build the nation,” he added.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bukit Assek branch chairman Datuk Chieng Buong Toon, Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng, Political Secretary to Premier, William Anut, Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting and other distinguished guests.
