KUCHING: A new wing to be established by Parti Bumi Bersatu (PBB) specifically for members aged 18 to 28 received positive responses from youth.

Named Gerak PBB 1828, many opined that the wing would bring Sarawak to greater heights.

Although youngsters lack experiences in politics, they believe that the young generation can bring forth fresh ideas and view points.

Following are views from members of public on Gerak PBB 1828.

The involvement of young people through this new wing will further colour the political atmosphere of our state or country. It can also open up opportunities for them to take an earlier step into the political arena. For me, there should be no specific restrictions or criteria to absorb them into this new wing. Doing so will have a long-term impact on our state politics later on.

The involvement of young people in politics will enhance the development of Sarawak.
It will also help achieve the mission and goals of the state government to become a developed country and ensure all generations are involved in developing the state.
The new wing augurs well for Sarawak as more people can share ideas on developing the state.

Youth can ensure a bright future for the state. They are now more mature and keep up with current issues, especially those relating to sports, education, entertainment and so on. I believe that specific criteria should be defined to select members for the new wing. We require integrity from them. They should have high moral standards.

The new wing will allow youth to influence the future and let their voices be heard. Young people who participate politically in their community are more likely to become engaged citizens and voters. So, in order to have a better future, politics is one of the best tools. There should be a criterion to choose members for the new wing. If you want to change things for the better, you need good individuals with strong political leadership.
