BAU: A total of 135 mini Jong boats participated in the Jong Regatta in conjunction with the 11-day Pesta Tasik Biru 2022.

According to the Jong D’Bau Legacy Recreational Sports Club chairman Marina Aminan, the mini sailboat race was held to preserve the art of Jong in the community.

Among the contested categories were Jong Skunar, Skuci, Batong Bandung, Kotak, Mixture, and Raja Tasik Biru.

The traditional water sports event has been organised since the British colonial era. Jong racing which depends entirely on the power of the wind is closely related to the culture of Chinese people who migrated from China to the Bau District using sailboats to work as gold miners since the 18th century.

The first time the Jong race was held in the district was on August 8, 1950, by the Bau District Office led by the District Officer at that time, A.J.N Richard.
