MIRI: The two-day Miri Division level Sarawak X-tive programme wrapped up yesterday with participants from Brunei Darussalam excelling in a couple of competed events.
The programme was held at Miri Indoor Stadium’s compound.
A total of six events were competed in this year’s programme, which was held in connection with the launch of the 60th anniversary of Sarawak Independence celebration. These six events were Mr Miri Body Building; Auto Show; Tug-of-War; Arms Wrestling; Fifa e-Sport; and Mobile Legend.
Brunei team dominated in the tug-of -war event as they emerged champion, fourth and fifth placings respectively.
Meanwhile in the arms wrestling event, participant from Kuching, Mohd Nor Shyefful Duan was crowned the ‘Champion-of -the-Champion’. He was also the winner in the senior men category.
Prizes were presented by federal Deputy Minister of Health Lukanisman Awang Sauni, who is also Sibuti Member of Parliament.
Lukanisman, in his brief speech, lauded participants for their active involvement in this year’s Sarawak X-tive programme.
Thus, he encouraged the youths to be more vocal in urging the government to organise more sport activities in the future.
