LABUAN: Two Brunei nationals have claimed trial to a bribery charge at the Magistrate’s Court here yesterday.

Saiful Nairul Azlan Hassan and Adinah Hussin, both civil servants, were accused of offering a RM300 bribe to an enforcement officer of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) to set them free after they were caught committing close proximity (khalwat) under Section 27 of the Shariah Criminal Offences (Federal Territory) Enactment on March 6, 2016.

Magistrate Leona Dominic Mojiliu allowed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecuting officer Schwarz Nasution’s request to release them on bail at RM15,000 each in two local sureties.
