BSN donates hearse to Sibu mosque

KUCHING: Datuk Husna Sibujaya Mosque in Sibu yesterday received a hearse from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).

The presentation ceremony was held at BSN Sarawak’s main branch at Jalan Kulas here.

Present were   the Director of the Business for BSN Sarawak, Sharulnahar Jaafar and  the President of the Islamic Council of Sarawak, Datuk Misnu Taha.

The hearse was bought with the business zakat donations under the Islamic Banking Scheme (IBS).

Speaking on the occasion, Sharulnahar  added that BSN would always find a variety of platforms to develop initiatives to help the needy.

He said that the total SPI BSN   business zakat collected during the financial year of 2016  amounted RM3 million.

Besides the  mosque, 12 other  institutions also received donations of hearses  based on their individual needs.

“Overall, the total zakat value spent on the 13 vans   totalled RM1.5 million,”   explained Sharulnahar.
