KUCHING: The significance of the 2020 Budget which was announced by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng on Friday is not lost on Julau MP Larry Sng.
The PKR man revealed that the budget exceeded his expectations, in contrast to the view of other state leaders.
“For me, the budget was better than expected, it injects much needed funding to stimulate the economy,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.
Sng opined that such is timely and adequate in view of global economic uncertainties which plagued the nation.
He maintained that Putrajaya remains inclusive given their focus on developing rural areas, particularly in Sabah and Sarawak.
“Pakatan Harapan (PH) being a clean government will make sure that the funds allocated will reach the people who need it most and to benefit all Malaysians.
On the development allocation given to Sabah and Sarawak, he viewed that the East Malaysians received a lion’s share of funding from the Rural Development Ministry.
“This is to develop infrastructure in rural areas and an allocation of RM783 million was given for repair works of dilapidated schools in both states.
“I believe this reflects the commitment of the federal government towards the Borneo states,” he explained.
