KUCHING: Bung Bratak is now open again for the public who misses jungle trekking and hill climbing.

Chairman of Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), Datuk Peter Minos said that the reopening was after Kuching was no longer declared as red zone.

“Since last weekend, many trekkers from Kuching came up and had a good time at Bung Bratak as most of them are frequent visitors.

“For the record, every weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at least 300 trekkers and day-trippers go up to Bung Bratak enjoying the climb and the fresh mountain air and spring water, or most of them just want to see the Bidayuh culture that are represented by the longhouses up there,” he said in a press statement.

Moreover, Minos also stated that he hopes the Covid-19 will be curb soonest possible, so that Bung Bratak and other related businesses will no longer be disrupted.

“Hopefully, the vaccines are coming up soon which will see the end of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he concluded.
