MIRI: A man has been arrested, less than 24 hours after allegedly stealing RM46,000 worth of jewellery and foreign currencies.

The suspect, 48, was picked up by police around 6.10pm on Tuesday from a budget hotel here.

He allegedly broke into a house in Jalan Cosmos 3, Pelita Commercial Centre, on Monday night.

The house owner, who is a 46-year-old sub-contractor, reported that a jade necklace worth RM8,000; a Panerai brand luxury wristwatch worth RM28,000; and foreign currencies, were missing.
