MIRI: A burglary victim from Beluru, Bakong found items stolen from his home at a local scrap metal shop last Wednesday.

His home was earlier broken into by thieves and various items worth RM3,500 were stolen.

Among the items were motorcycle batteries, copper and aluminum pots, motorcycle engine components, electrical wiring, cooking pan and pipe faucets.

The house-owner and his wife were at their orchard in Simpang Mamut, Jalan Miri-Bintulu when the burglary took place.

Suspecting that the thieves might have sold the items to a scrap metal shop, the victim accompanied by his wife and a brother-in-law went to a shop at Simpang Bekenu to check if any of his missing goods were sold there.

When they arrived at the shop, the victim spotted the goods inside the shop and subsequently lodged a police report.
