Businessman robbed of RM6,000 near bank

KUCHING: A businessman was robbed of RM6,000 by four armed men in front of a bank at Jalan Tun Jugah here at 8.30pm last Monday.

The 24-year-old businessman from Kenyalang Park here said four men on two motorcycles blocked him way before one of them pointed a sharp weapon at his waist before ordering him to hand over a sling bag he was carrying.

Fearing for his safety, the businessman gave the robbers his sling bag which contained RM6,000, some personal documents and bank cards.

The victim later lodged a police report. In another case, a student from Selangor was robbed at Jalan Borneo here at 7pm last Monday.  The victim said he was walking out of a shopping complex near Plaza Merdeka here when two men blocked his way.

One of them then pointed a ‘Rambo knife’ at his head before demanding for his wallet.

Fearing for his safety, the student handed over his wallet with RM100 and some personal documents inside.

Both cases have been reported to the police for their investigation.
