KUCHING: Oilzania Borneo proprietor Dayang Saemah Abang Roselie, 42, makes no secret of her love for essential oils.

“I fell in love with the beautiful and calming natural aromas. Initially, I started making homemade balms using pure essential oils in 2017 for treating fever, colds and cough among my family members.

“That’s when I observed the therapeutic aroma of pure essential oils also benefits the emotion and our mental health,” she added.
Oilzania Borneo creates a sizable quantity of handcrafted balms.

Starting out with chest rubs, Oilzania Borneo has now developed a wider range of goods, including face serum, lip balm, beard oils, and insect bite relief.

“One of the best sellers is Peppermint Balm with menthol as a new addition to its ingredients,” said Dayang Saemah who holds a BSc in Resource Biotechnology.

The new batch of Peppermint Balm will give a cooling effect that might help to manage stomach aches, she explained.

“Other best sellers are the Anti Anxiety Inhaler and Breathe Easy Balm.

“For children, it is advisable to buy Balm Batuk Selsema which is specially crafted and designed for babies aged six months until two years old age.

“This balm is very effective for reducing thick mucus trapped in our children’s chest. The essential oils in the balm will loosen the mucus so it would easily come out naturally,” she added.

Natural ingredients we use such as essential oils, coconut oils we usually get from local suppliers and the products are 100 percent handmade, she said.

“We have our own mini laboratory to process about 20-50 balms per day.”she said.
