KUCHING: Infrastructure and Ports Development Assistant Minister Julaihi Narawi last Tuesday visited the Sebangan vaccination centre and the proposed site of the new Sebangan Health Clinic.

He was accompanied by the Samarahan Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) led by Samarahan Resident Brahim Lumpu during the visit to the vaccination centre.

He was told that around 2,200 villagers from Kampung Sebangan would receive their second Covid-19 vaccine dose from Tuesday until Saturday (July 17).

The Sebangan vaccination centre — at the Kampung Lutong Sebangan Community Hall — was led by Dr Nurul Huda Aziz of the Sebangan Health Clinic.

Assisting at the centre are doctors and health officers from Sebangan Health clinic and Sebuyau Health Clinic, including volunteers from the State Health Department, officers and staff from the Sebuyau District Office and staff from the Sebuyau service centre.

Julaihi thanked the staff and volunteers including the villagers in the surrounding areas for their hard work and cooperation which had contributed to a smooth vaccination programme.

Next, Julaihi and Brahim visited the proposed site of the new Sebangan Health Clinic together with Dr Nurul and Samarahan Medical Officer Dr Nur Fatihah Oh Abdullah and Simunjan District Officer Abdul Khalid Manap.

The proposed site of the new clinic will be brought up to the Land and Survey Department and also to the Ministry of Health (MoH) for consideration.

The Sebangan four-junction area — where the Collection, Processing and Packaging Centre (CPPC) site and the new Sebangan market are located — was proposed as the site of the  new clinic.
