KUCHING: A residential house in Jalan Kampung Hilir, Sri Aman was engulfed in flames while three other houses were badly damaged today.
The incident happened around 12.20pm and the alerted firefighters who were deployed to the scene found that one of the houses was completely destroyed while other houses could still be spared.
Sri Aman fire chief PPgB William Baheng said that 25 occupants managed to escape unharmed and no other casualties were reported during the incident.
The blaze was put out at 3.10pm. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, in Jalan Bintawa Tengah, Kuching, a factory caught fire around 12.40pm and firefighters from Tabuan Jaya and Padungan fire stations were dispatched to the scene after they received an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the firemen put out the fire that caused minor damages to the building. No casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
