KUCHING: A man was sentenced to four days’ jail and fined RM3,000 for stealing two rolls of cable at a construction site in Batu Kawa.
Masyhur, 31, of Simunjan, was handed the penalty by Magistrate Zaiton Anuar after he pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 380 of the Penal Code here today.
Should he fail to pay the fine, Zaiton ordered him to serve six months in prison.
He was charged with stealing cables belonging to a construction company at a building site in Batu Kawa at 8 pm on Sept 2.
The prosecution of the case was handled by Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang.
