MUKAH: The people here are called to be united in addressing social problems among the community and putting emphasis on human capital development at the grassroots level.

Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine said this at the Raya Gawai open house programme organised by the Neighbourhood Watch Committee locally known as Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Petanak Jaya, here.

“Apart from that, the issue of online gambling must also be eradicated completely. Do not let this activity drag on and become the second worst problem after drug abuse which has long spread similarly as cancer in our society,” he pointed out.

Royston also shared information related to issues raised in the last State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, especially issues related to coastal erosion which has worsened in Kuala Sungai Petanak at this time.

“Relevant parties have been asked to make appropriate studies and take initial actions as well as long-term planning to overcome this problem,” he assured.
