KUCHING: Information Department (JaPen) staff members have been told to collect public views on the Malaysian Family (Keluarga Malaysia) concept, do research on it and hold informative gatherings at the grassroots level.

The call came from secretary general of the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia (KKMM) Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek in his address to JaPen officers in the management and professional group during a visit to JaPen Sarawak Headquarters at Jalan Diplomatik off Jalan Bako yesterday.

Mohammad also urged the JaPen staff to utilise social media optimally in channelling and disseminating the latest government policies as well as promoting programmes organised by the government.

He pointed out that the department acted as a catalyst and agent of change by channelling verified government information as well as policies to the people.

Also present during Mohammad’s visit were JaPen Sarawak director Swady Guliling and deputy director Aziz Abdul Rahman.
