KUCHING: The government is urged to improve road condition in Kota Sentosa area near here.
The road conditions in Kota Sentosa particularly the 7th Mile Commercial Centre area are simply deplorable, said Michael Kong in a statement released yesterday (May 26).
According to the special assistant to Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, road users have to deal with the slow construction works for the flyovers at 6th and 7th Mile and there is also a lack of proper lighting for the main roads such as at Jalan Liu Shan Bang and Jalan Penrissen.
“This is simply unacceptable especially when all these affected roads serve thousands of people residing from 7th Mile onwards, such as Jalan Stakan, Jalan Penrissen, 9th Mile, 10th Mile and many more,” Kong pointed out.
These issues are nothing new and have been made known to the relevant authorities on numerous occasions but no action has been taken by the Public Works Department (JKR) and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), he lamented.
