SEBUYAU: Batang Lupar constituents are called to rally solidly behind the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

“I call on all the people, especially in Batang Lupar, to give a chance to GPS candidates in the 15th general election (GE-15),” said Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi.

The Sebuyau assemblyman was met by reporters after officiating at a Digital Rindok Programme in Dewan Pembangunan Sebuyau here, today.

“We ask that the people here will give solid support to our young candidate Mohamad Shafizan Kepli who is contesting in Batang Lupar, to ensure continuity of planned development,” he said.
He pointed out that the Batang Lupar parliamentary seat and Sebuyau state constituency are GPS strongholds.

“So we expect to be one of the contributors to victory in the 31 parliamentary seats contested by GPS.

“We want a clear and loud voice to represent us in Parliament.

“This is to fight for our rights enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), which is what GPS has been doing since its establishment as a coalition party,” he said.

Batang Lupar will witness a three-cornered clash between GPS, Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Nov 19 election.

Shafizan will be up against Hamdan Sani of Perikatan Nasional and Wel @ Maxwel Rojis (Pakatan Harapan).
