KUCHING: Sarawakians are called to trust and fully support Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to ensure all planned development agendas can be realised.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Julaihi Narawi said that only the GPS-led government has a clear and structured agenda in developing this state for a brighter future.

“All the development efforts being carried out clearly show that GPS has a clear and organised agenda to bring Sarawak and its people towards a developed state by 2030.

“Therefore, I call on all Sarawakians to continue trusting the GPS government in the 15th general election (GE15) to enable us to have a strong voice at the federal level,” he said.

The Minister for Utilities and Telecommunications said this at a press conference after witnessing the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) and tripartite agreement with strategic partners, at a leading hotel here, today.

He also called on all voters to give 100 per cent support to the 31 GPS candidates who are contesting so that the rights of this state can continue to be claimed and fought for in the Dewan Rakyat.

“Only GPS knows the direction and next plan for this state, for the future of its people, especially the young generations.

“Therefore, we should give confidence to all GPS candidates to become people’s representatives to make it easier for Sarawak to realise all the agendas that have been planned,” he added.

For the record, GPS fielded 14 new faces in this GE15.

Of the 31 candidates announced, GPS retained 16 incumbents including three ministers and four deputy ministers.

The distribution of seats between the four component parties sees PBB contesting in 14 parliamentary seats,, the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) seven, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) six and the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) four.

This GE also witnesses GPS trying to recapture 13 more parliamentary seats that were won by the opposition in GE14.
