KUALA LUMPUR: New Member of Parliament of Cameron Highlands Ramli Mohd Noor was sworn-in as a member of the Dewan Rakyat today.
Ramli the first Orang Asli to be elected as MP took his oath of office before Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.
On Jan 26, Ramli, 61, won the Cameron Highlands parliamentary by-election when he garnered 12,038 votes to defeat Pakatan Harapan’s M. Manogaran who won 8,800 votes and two independent candidates Sallehudin Ab Talib (314 votes) and Wong Seng Yee (276 votes). – Bernama
