KUCHING: The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) recently received a contribution of RM6,000 from Kuching Love Book Association.

SCCS stated that the contribution was from a charity sale during the Kuching Intercultural Mooncake Fest held at Carpenter Street.

“We are grateful for the continuous support from our community such as Kuching Love Book Association as it enables us to ensure children battling childhood cancer and their families get access to the best available treatment and care they need,” SCCS said today.

SCCS revealed that a huge portion of its annual expense of RM1.5mil went to subsidising costly medical treatments and consumables for children battling cancer.

Besides that, funds also went to providing financial assistance to families in need and donating essential medical equipment not provided in government hospitals.

“Moreover, this also includes providing accommodation, transportation and food to outstation children and caregivers as well as preparing care packs for newly diagnosed patients and organising activities and celebrations to spread joy to children undergoing treatment, among others.”
