MIRI: A Honda motorcycle which was reported stolen last Sunday (December 15) was recovered three days later, but it has been cannibalized and then abandoned in a ditch in Piasau Jaya Phase 2.

A 16-year-old student reported the RM3, 000 motorcycle missing from a parking lot of a homestay premises in the city centre.

According to Miri police Chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the motorcycle belonged to the complainant’s father.

After the report was lodged, a team of detectives led by Inspector Fredly Juing went into action.

They managed to detain one of the suspects in Kampung Lereng Bukit around 2.14pm on Wednesday.

Following the first arrest, police detected the second suspect three hours later.

Both suspects aged 33 and 43 have been detained at the Central Police Station for questioning.
