MIRI: A car was destroyed after it caught fire at Jalan Kuala Baram-Lopeng here on Monday (Aug 10).

The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said a team of firefighters of Lopeng Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene after an emergency call on the 2.17pm incident was received.

According to fire operation commander PBK II Nasir Razali, the car was found parked by the side of the road upon the firemen’s arrival.

“The car was destroyed and the team managed to extinguish the fire. The operation ended at 3.03pm,” he said.

No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The razed car was found parked just off the road.
