BETONG: Two women died, while a man and a boy survived when their vehicle went off the road and into a river in Kampung Semueh Baru, Jalan Lubuk Antu here today.
The Betong fire station received a distress call about the incident at 11.29 am. Swiftly responding, the fire and rescue team headed to the scene.
However, before they arrived, members of the public had already managed to pull all four passengers from the submerged vehicle.
The driver of the 4WD vehicle, a man, and a boy were rushed to Merindun Clinic for medical attention. Sadly, the two women were declared dead by paramedics on-site.
As of now, the identities of the four individuals have not been disclosed.
The fire and rescue team assisted with the aftermath, ensuring the victims were safely handed over to the police for further investigations.
