We cannot continue despoiling the earth
Causing havoc and destruction all over
Choking ourselves and many others
Polluting the rivers and the seas
Giving way to our selfishness
Tumbling headlong, oblivious
To the inevitable ending
We can start caring for the earth
Treating her as our home, our gardens
One filled with beauty, and wonderment
A place of refuge, for all sentient beings
The Eden that we all deserved
Beholden as true human beings
An enlightened, and a grateful caretaker
Instead of despoiling nature as given us
Have some mindfulness
Find joy in the ordinary
Be the trusted steward that we are
Caring for our precious heritage
Common to all sentient beings
To others too, and more
