Caretaker beaten and robbed

MIRI: Two robbers kicked in the front door of an orchard hut at Suai in Niah and robbed the 66-year-old caretaker recently.

In the 2am robbery, the victim, who was beaten repeatedly by the suspects, sustained injuries to his body.

The assailants took his money amounting to RM300, MyKad and a handphone.

According to Miri police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah, a police report on the incident was lodged by the victim on Nov 2.

Nobody has been arrested yet in connection with the crime.

Lim added that due to the attack, the victim fell unconscious for two hours.

Prior to the incident, the victim heard somebody knocking on the door of the hut while asking for fuel.

When he refused to open the door, it was kicked in.

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
