MIRI: Cargo flights in and out of Sarawak will go on to ensure continued supply of essential items for the population, assured Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

“I am working closely with the Federal Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and his deputy Hasbi Habibollah to ensure that there are uninterrupted cargo services to Sarawak from Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

He added that he was also working closely with MASkargo and Pos Asia Cargo Express on this matter.

MASkargo would continue to operate one daily flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching except for Mondays and Sundays.

Similarly, Pos Asia Cargo Express would operate one cargo flight daily for the Kuala Lumpur/Kuching sector and Kuala Lumpur/Miri sector except Sundays, Lee explained.

“We have also been notified by the airline companies that cargoes are also being transported from Kuala Lumpur-Sibu, Kuala Lumpur-Miri and Kuala Lumpur-Kuching by passenger aircraft, with the cargo limited to two tonnes per flight,” he said.
