Caring for the environment with Semariang Batu villagers

KUCHING: The Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) invites the local community to take care of their environment together through its inclusivity programme.

The inclusivity programme with the community was launched on Sept 5, 2020 in Kampung Senari.

Mayor of DBKU Datuk Junaidi Reduan said this programme is a continuation of DBKU’s initiative plan – Clean, Beautiful, Safe, Smart, Sustainable (CBSSS).

Therefore, the DBKU held an Inclusiveness Initiative Programme with the Semariang Batu Village Community and its surroundings including SK Semariang here today.

“Through this programme, DBKU invites the local community to take care of their environment together, so that it is always beautiful, clean, and comfortable,

“A conducive environment can increase a sense of belonging among the community itself so that they are more responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the environment and the beauty and safety of the village,” he told the press yesterday.

Junaidi added through this kind of programme, it would support the transformation of the village to make it more beautiful, clean and safe with the involvement of all residents.

The programme was officiated by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Government Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, who is also Semariang assemblyman.

Also present at the programme were caretaker Senior Minister of Public Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Petra Jaya candidate and Social Welfare Department director Noriah Ahmad.
