CARSOME technology expansion complements state’s goal

KUCHING: The expansion of CARSOME’s technology driven business model to Sarawak complements the state goal in improving the standard of living, growing the economy and providing job opportunities, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

He said the state government really welcomed the new investment to Sarawak as it could bring new technology, opening wider worldwide network on marketing and provide skill training and jobs for Sarawakian.

“As the Second Minister of New Economy in Sarawak, we welcome technological progress in Sarawak. Technological progress is essential to economic growth and development, and the more advanced the technology available, the quicker the local and global economy can improve – especially during the post pandemic recovery period.

“The Sarawak government is in the midst of implementing its Post-COVID19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) where its people will enjoy economic prosperity driven by data and innovation.

“I believe that CARSOME’s technology driven business model will complement our goal to improve the standard of living, grow our economy to provide business and job opportunities and train our people to be resourceful and increase their income level,” he said in his speech during the launching of CARSOME Sarawak Inspection Centre at Jalan Simpang Tiga here today.

He also said that with the operation of CARSOME inspection centres in East Malaysia, there will be a total of 125 new staff members will be employed.

“This provides a good platform and opportunity for local talents to receive training in using the technology and potentially generate thousands of high-quality job opportunities in the local automotive and tech industry,” he added.

Meanwhile, according to CARSOME Co-Founder and CARSOME Academy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Teoh Jiun Ee, the expansion to East Malaysia is part of CARSOME’s ongoing mission to solve customers’ pain points, thereby providing Malaysians peace of mind throughout their car selling journey.

“The presence of CARSOME in East Malaysia marks a significant and positive milestone for us. Our motivation is to make CARSOME services accessible to all Malaysians as we continue to innovate the used car ecosystem, driven by data and technology,” he told.

With the launch of four new inspection centre in Sarawak namely in Kuching, Sibu, Miri and Bintulu CARSOME now has 49 inspection centres across Malaysia.

The inspection centres aim to offer customers a differentiated and hassle-free car-selling experience, through fast payment and worry-free transaction process.

Guided by a stringent inspection procedure, every CARSOME Inspection Centre will have a skilled professional inspector to conduct comprehensive inspection on the car, to ensure its quality is accounted for to offer the best price in the market.
