KUCHING: The daily number of Covid-19 positive cases in Malaysia is projected to reach four digits in the next one or two months.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, after referring to a graph of the daily Covid-19 cases, said that it would not be surprising if the daily cases go beyond four digits in the coming and following months.

“We pray for everyone in Malaysia. (Remember) what former chief minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem always said, ‘Jaga Sarawak baik baik’ (take good care of Sarawak),” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (April 26).

He also wanted politics to be put aside for now as the people are more important.

“Now is not the time for politics. It’s time to save lives. We need solidarity, all of us together,” he said.

Judging by the Covid-19 daily cases in the graph, the curve is expected to move up due to non-compliance with the health standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Last April 16, Sarawak had the highest daily case tally in the country with 960, which was the most for the state since the pandemic started.

Covid-19 daily cases forecasted to increase in the next one or two months.
