MUKAH: The local authority here has been catching stray dogs in this fast growing district since last week.
This is in view of the rabies outbreak in Kuching and Serian Divisions of the state.
The local Health Department has erected banners reminding people of the danger of dogs at strategic locations in the area.
The catching of stray dogs, which are fond of scavenging rubbish by the roadsides, is much welcomed by many local residents.
Some aggressive dogs also like to chase runners and motorcyclists.
The so-called dog catchers use motorcycles to chase the dogs. After they are caught, the dogs are taken to an undisclosed location for further action.
