SIBU: A habitual housebreaker was caught before he could break into a home in Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce 32.
According to the Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, a police MPV was on beat duty along the road at about 1.30am on Monday when they saw a motorcyclist behaving suspiciously.
“The man was stopped by the police for investigation and they found a metal cutter, a spanner, and a hacksaw in the motorcycle basket,” he said.
The 46-year-old suspect failed to provide a reasonable answer when asked about the tools.
“Our investigation later revealed that the suspect has a previous record of housebreaking,” he said.
