KUCHING: Community members here were urged not to entertain any messages received from any chat application asking for financial assistance from Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

The Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) said they should just block the messages as these came from  irresponsible individuals who used his name and photo to ask for money via the Telegram application.

“Therefore, I would like to request and urge all parties who receive messages through any chat application to ignore it or block it and make a report to mobile application used by those irresponsible individuals,” he said in his Facebook post yesterday.

He also said that if anyone has been fooled, they were asked to immediately report to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) so that the individuals involved can be brought to justice.

“May Allah protect us all from all tricks,” he added.

Yesterday, several individuals received messages allegedly from Wan Junaidi who asked for them to lend him cash amounting around RM3,000 up to RM4,000.
