CBT: Two ex-company directors claim trial

KUCHING: Two former directors of a timber company were charged with four counts of criminal breach of trust involving RM114,994.47 in a Magistrate’s Court here yesterday.

The accused, Wong Hie Sing, 58, and Yung Wei Pong, 56, were alleged to have committed the crime at OCBC Bank, Jalan Bukit Mata here between January and December 2012.

All four charges framed under Section 403 and Section 34 of the Panel Code were read out before magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi.

The duo was accused of converting rental payments by Syarikat Bakeri Timber to RJ Timur Sdn Bhd for personal use.

Both accused, however, claimed trial to all charges and Zubaidah fixed May 16 and 17 for trials.

Wong and Yung if convicted will face a jail term of not less than six months and not more than five years, with whipping and fines.

Wong and Yung were represented by Chong Siew Chiang, Roger Chin and Michael Kong while deputy public prosecutor Danial Ilham prosecuted.
