SEBUYAU: Muslims have been reminded to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri only with family members and not to organise large gatherings.

Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) reported that Assistant Minister of Infrastructure and Ports Development Datuk Julaihi Narawi urged Raya celebrants to comply strictly with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that had been set.

“This year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration is still the same as last year and the people must always follow the SOPs,” he said during the presentation of donations to ‘asnaf’ (poor) groups on Sunday (May 9).

“This is important as to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and break the chain,” he added.

Sebuyau assemblyman presented donations to the ‘asnaf’ groups from Kampung Seruyu, Kampung Sungai Ladong and Kampung Segali in conjunction with this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

He also handed over 62 packets of ‘duit raya’ (raya cash) to villagers in the Sebangan Zone and announced an allocation of RM10,000 to the Kampung Sungai Ladong Women’s Committee Activity Centre for the purchase of items such as chairs.
